Then in 1879 they moved to Clark County where they farmed in the town of Loyal and York until 1894 when they continued farming in the town of Beaver, and finally thirteen years on a bigger farm in the town of Eaton until retirement. Source Data: From the records of Merrill Dunn. Obituary: James Albert Dunn was born Jan 28, 1847 in the state of New York, a son of George and Annastasia Dunn. His early life was passed at his birthplace and in Ontario, Canada where his parents moved when he was a small boy. Deceased was married in Marmora, Canada Feb 1st, 1871 and three years later moved to Seymour, Wis., where the family resided until 34 years ago when they came to Clark County to reside, having made their home on the farm South of town the past thirteen years. Mr. Dunn was always a hard, conscientious laboring man trying to do his duty and provide for his household. He was a man of excellent habits, fine moral character, and sturdy constitution, and he continued to be active in his accustomed pursuits still long past the age which men ordinarily drop from the ranks of the workers. To this end there is no doubt that sunshiny disposition largely contributed. Death occurred last Wednesday PM, July 24th from an accident which happened while harvesting his hay crop. As a load was being unloaded in the barn, the trip rope broke on the hay fork and let him fall to the floor. The sudden shock caused a reaction of his heart which resulted in death shortly after. Deceased leaves one brother, Edwin Dunn of Buffalo, Minnesota; one sister Margaret, Alma Center, Wis., and three half brothers in Canada, as well as his wife, Nancy and their Children: Florence, Miriam, Sadie, James, Anne, Margaret, Stacia and Albert Dunn. Published in the Greenwood Gleaner, July 30, 1912.
