Leanidas Phillips, brother of George N. Phillips and father of Mrs. J.W. Herian, of this city, died at his home near Humbird, Clark County, Wis. Saturday, aged nearly 80 years.

He was born in Onondaga Co., N.Y., served nearly three years in the Civil War, and settled later in Clark County, in the town of Levis. He moved to Osseo and then to his farm near Humbird, where he died. His wife died about a year ago. He leaves five sons and three daughters, all of whom, but one, were present at the funeral, which was held at the home Tuesday. Mr. Phillips was a man highly respected by all who knew him, and a most excellent citizen.
