 PREVIOUS

Stan, you just completed a major portion of a puzzle. My mother told me of her great grandfather dying in Idaho however we thought it was my great grandmothers father. This also explains the no date of death on the marker in Neillsburg.

Thank you very much for this information.

This is just great.

The story goes that my great grandfather Leo Vernon Edgbert was very sick from a tropical disease he picked up during the Spanish American War. They sold the farm in Wisconsin and were moving to California. His health became so bad on the trip they had to stop in Idaho. They spent two years there and it was during this time WD Edgbert must have passed away. The family story is that he had dementia and wandered away in the winter. I don't know if he died from exposure or pneumonia.

My great grandfather made enough of a recovery to resume their trip to California. Unfortunately LV Edgbert was hospitalized at the Veterans Hospital in Los Angeles soon after reaching California and he passed away in 1926.

Thanks Again Steve Ray
