Wiertz, Frank (MAY 1898 - 2 Dec 1918)

A telegram received here Monday by Jos. Wiertz stated that his son Frank, with the army in France, had died from wounds received in battle. He was born at Cornell, Ill. and came here with his parents. Although only 20 years old last May, he had served four years in the regular army, came home and worked a year on farms in this vicinity (Neillsville, Clark County, Wis.), and in March again joined the army. He was a fine young man and made a splendid record as a soldier.
