Carl Zschernitz died Friday, Sept. 5, 1919, at his home in Pine Valley, Clark County, Wis., aged 75 years and 23 days. Deceased, whose full name was Carl Christian Johann Otto Adolf, was born in Germany where he grew to manhood, and was there married to Rosa Krueger. For many years he followed the business of contracting and building, and at one time accumulated a considerable fortune, later meeting with financial losses. He and family came to this country 24 years ago, the sons becoming active men in the community. For several years past the father lived a retired life on the farm in Pine Valley where he died. The wife died about four years ago. He leaves four sons: Henry, Carl and Robert of Neillsville, and Edward in the army overseas. He leaves two daughters: Mrs. Martha Hachman and Mrs. Allen Wildish.

The funeral was held Sunday at the home of Mrs. Allen Wildish, Rev. L. B. Colman officiating.
