Lucken, Carrie (25 DEC 1848 - 8 MAR 1893)

Mrs. Carrie Peterson, wife of Jacob E. Lucken, died at her home 5 1/2 miles southwest of this village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) on Thursday last, aged 44 years, 2 months and 14 days. Mrs. Lucken was born at Skabo, Norway, Dec. 25, 1848, and came to this county in 1868, and two years later was united in marriage with Jacob E. Lucken, at Coon's Valley, Vernon Co., Wis. Shortly after her marriage she removed with her husband to Minnesota, and in 1876 came to Clark County, Wis., settling on their present farm in the town of Thorp. She was the mother of eight children, five of whom, four boys, Chris, Edward, John, Paul, and one girl, Rosie, and her husband survive her. The remains were interred at the Norwegian Lutheran Cemetery near her home, where also repose the remains of her father, on Saturday afternoon last, Rev. J. W. Prens of Eau Claire officiating.
