Victims Are Buried

There were only brief services for time was short and many had to be cared for.

At 9 a.m. in the Finnish Lutheran church at Owen, services were held for Mr. and Mrs. (Marietta (1896-1924) Harry Norris (1884-1924) and their daughter, Kathleen 9 (1915-1924). Two younger children, the only survivors of the family, were in the church.

September 21, 1924 — Devastating tornado starting near Augusta near Eau Claire took heavy toil of human life and property. Those killed south of Clark were Walter Hill, Mrs. Chester Dunevent and 3 children. At Redville Mr. and Mrs. Harry Norris and child, Frank Weaver’s child, Mrs. Peter Mateya and Mrs. Sam Thorson. The Black River Railroad Bridge near Clark was torn from its piers and hurled into the river.
