Wendt, Henry W. (7 AUG 1840 - 31 Augl 1916)

The funeral services of the late Henry Wm. Wendt were held last Saturday afternoon at the Congregational Church, town of Reseberg, Clark County, Wis. Rev. W. H. Sargent of Owen preached the funeral sermon. There was a large attendance of neighbors and friends. The remains were interred in the Reseberg Cemetery. Henry Wm. Wendt was born Aug. 7, 1840 in Hanover, Germany and died Thursday afternoon Aug. 31, 1916, at the age of 76 years and 24 days. In the year 1868 he immigrated from Germany and came to Allegan, Mich., where he was married to Miss Anna Lohrberg, Aug. 14, 1870. The family came to Longwood, Clark County, Wis., in the year 1884 and shortly afterwards settled here in Reseberg, where the family has resided for 32 years. Mr. Wendt was a member of the Evangelical Church and lived a devoted Christian life for over 40 years. There remain to mourn his loss his wife and seven children, six sons and one daughter, also a brother William and a sister who live in Germany and nineteen grandchildren. He was a kind and devoted husband and father.
