Kennedy, Lodema E.(21 May 1851 - 13 Mar 1907)

Mrs. Kennedy, whose maiden name was Lodema Elizabeth Mack, died at her home in Sparta Wednesday, March 13, 1907, at 9 a.m., aged 56 years, from a stroke of paralysis, which came upon her the day previous.

She was born in Hasting Co., Canada, May 21, 1851. On Dec. 2, 1867, she was married at Tunnel City to Mr. Clark Kennedy, who died in 1888. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Lyda Castner of Loyal, Clark County, Wis. and Mrs. Hattie Andrews of Greenwood, Wis., three children, Charles, Nina and Sina Kennedy.

Funeral services, which had been deferred awaiting arrival of her son from Oakland, Cal., was held on Wednesday at 2:30 p.m., at the residence. Friends from abroad who were present at the obsequies were Dr. J. A. L. Bradfield and wife, La Crosse, Mrs. Caleb Mack and Dr. Donald and wife, Tunnel City, and Mr. and Mrs. John Castner, Loyal, Wis.

She was a member of the M. E. Church twenty-three years. Her life was one of quiet and unassuming modesty. She was a faithful and loving mother, a good neighbor and a child of God. She passed quickly to that "House of many Mansions," where sickness and death never enter and so "He giveth his beloved sleep."
