Jerry, I only picked up these articles going through the old Thorp Couriers. A group of folks is trying to record as much history of Clark County, Wis. on the internet as we can in our spare time, and one of my projects is to collect obits and marriage notices from the Thorp Courier. In looking through the Thorp Courier for obits and marriages, I came across the articles about St. Hedwig's and St. Bernard's and thought they might be interesting to some folks. I personally have no knowledge of either church. However, the last time we visited Clark County, we went to Thorp and visited the Thorp Area Museum at St. Hedwig's. We borrowed a Diamond Anniversary Book from the Church, but I could not find the names that you were interested in mentioned in that book. These were both pretty large churches, even in the early 1900's, so they did not list parishioners by name in the anniversary book.

My wife sent your query to some folks that do have some knowledge of Thorp area history, so maybe one of them can make a connection.  Stan Schwarze
