2nd Affidavit requesting Civil War Pension for Henrich (Henry) Decker
State of Wisconsin, County of Clark
In the matter of the Pension Claim of Heinrich Decker, Private, Co. C, 27th Wis Vol Infty, Claim Number 304226.
Personally came before me a Notary Public in and for aforesaid County and State, Heinrich Decker of Warner, Clark County, Wis and Fredrick Buker of Warner, Clark County wis whose post office address is Greenwood, Wis, persons of lawful age, who, being duly sworn, declare in relation to the aforesaid case as follows: Heinrich Decker that he is the claimant for invalid Pension No 304226. That his claim for pension was for Hernia in the lower right groin that he forwarded all the evidence to sustain the claim asked for. That said claim was refused on grounds that there did exist a hernia of the upper abdomen at the time of enlistment such the claimant has acknowledged and has not petitioned for pension on a/c of that Hernia but did petition on the ground of hernia contracted while in the lin of duty under orders on the march down the Gazoo River to Vicksburg and that the said rupture of the lower right groin did not exist before that.
Fredrick Bucker that he has known Heinrich Decker for Thirty Five years, that he Bucker was a private of Comp C, 27th Rgt, Wis Vol Inft, that he was present at the time Heinrich Decker fell (on the march to Vicksburg) and ruptured his lower righ groin. That to his knowledge the rupture of the lower right groin did not exist when he enlisted and that it was contracted while under orders in the performance of duty on the march to Vicksburg.
Fred Buker further declares that he has no interest in said case, and is not concerned in its prosecution.

Sworn to and subscribed before me this 7th day of February 1885, and I hereby certify that the contents of the foregoing affidavit were fully made known and explained to the affiants before swearing thereto, that the affiants are to me well known and are respectable and worthy of full credit and that I have no interest, direct or indirect, in the prosecution of this claim.
