Local Matters

L.J. Glass was up from Madison last week on a visit to his family.

The explosion of a kerosene lamp at the residence of Dr. Mulvey’s last Saturday night caused considerable consternation. Mrs. Mulvey had her hands burnt quite severely in putting out the fire caused by the explosion.

H.J. Hoffman & Thos. Cunningham have bought the Chippewa Falls Independent and consolidated it with the Times of that city. It was a wise thing to do. The city will now have but one democratic paper and it will be a rouser.

C.F. Shultz & Son have moved their tailoring and ready made clothing establishment from Maple Works to Neillsville, and can now be found first door west of the Post Office, where they are ready to wait on those who may favor them with their patronage.
