Linda Elaine Suda, Route #3, Greenwood, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Suda, and Myron James Wirtala, Route #3, Greenwood, son of Mrs. Uendla Wirtala, were united in marriage on Friday, September 9, 1977, the 25th anniversary of the bride’s parents, at 3:00 p.m. The ceremony took place at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Withee, with Rev. Douglas Groenewold performing the ceremony.

The bride wore a sleeveless Guiana knit in ivory with appliqued bodice and skirt front, also bordered with applique trim around the hem and train. The veil was of sheer ivory material without lace or trim, the crown also covered with sheer ivory, had a flower attached to one side. They wore handmade dresses with cap sleeves, V-necks with shirt collars and half belt gathering the bodice, the print materials resembling a collection of Persian run patterns containing fall colors of brown, rust and yellow gold. They carried a sing yellow rose.

The groom was dressed in a sand colored tux, and his attendant’s ore rust colored tuxes. They were: Scott Marrier, a friend of the groom, Rod Porath, a friend of the groom, Dennis Wendt, brother-in-law of the groom, Nick Wirtala, brother of the groom, and Church Wirtala, brother of the groom. Ushers were Ed Lee, an uncle of the bride, and Ed Wirtala, a brother of the groom.

A reception followed the ceremony at the Loyal Legion Hall, which was decorated with yellow and white streamers coming from a triple bell in the center of the room. Approximately 325 guests attended from Duluth, Minnesota, California, Milwaukee, Gurnee, Illinois, Waukegan, Illinois, Thorp, Stanley, Glen Flora, Jump River, River Falls, Lake City, Minnesota, Withee, Owen and Marshfield.
