Richard J. "Mouse" Kernz

Richard Kernz, age 39, of El Paso, Texas, formerly of Neillsville, Wis. died Tuesday, Aug. 9, 1999 in El Paso, Texas.

Richard John Kernz was born on Sept. 18, 1959 in Neillsville, the son of Philip and Irene (Keane) Kernz. He graduated from Neillsville High School and then worked at various farms in the area. In 1990 he moved to El Paso, Texas and was working as a security guard at the YMCA. Rick's hobbies included woodworking and fishing.

He is survived by two brothers: William (Emily) Kernz of Neillsville mid Edward (Jeriann) Kernz of Burlington, Wis.; five sisters: Phyllis Kernz - SSND of Davenport, Iowa, Tereasa (David) Witkowsky of Des Moines, Iowa, Jeanne Stankey of Cottage Grove, Wis., Susan (Douglas) Oldham Of Neillsville, and Kristine Gustafson of Winthrop, Minn. Rick is also survived by 12 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Funeral Services were held at I p.m., Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999 at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Fr. Joseph Henseler of St. Mary's Catholic Church officiated. Music was provided by Eileen Zank, organist. Internment was in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation was from 12 to I p.m., Saturday at the Gesche Funeral Home.

The Gesche Funeral Home assisted Rick's family with arrangements.
