After two years of hiatus, the Show-Case Players, a community theatre group,
will be back on the Colby High School stage with a production of Agatha
Christie’s “The Mousetrap”, with performances running March 18 and 19 at 7:30
p.m., and March 20 at 2 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door.
“The Mousetrap” is the longest running play in history. The play originally
opened in London’s West End in 1952 and ran continuously until March 16, 2020,
when the stage performances had to be discontinued during the pandemic. The show
opened again in London last May.
Several familiar faces will grace the local production, including Elaine Haas,
Jordan Ashenbrenner, Edgar Ausbourne, Greg Jackan, Conrad Flink and Ariel
Oehmichen. Newcomers in the show are Taya Timm and Nathan Bier.
Assisting in the production are Paula Williams, Kevin Wyeth, Brandon
Ashenbrenner, Lia Smith, Kevin Hanson, Ryan Lampi, Kevin Flink, Dawn
Kasper-Harding, Jenny Weber and Matt Riihinen. The show is directed by Jeffer
Scheuer.
To help promote literacy and the arts in the area, the ShowCase Players and many
of the local libraries are giving away a limited number of free tickets to the
upcoming show.
To have a chance at winning free tickets, just drop by one of the participating
libraries, fill out an entry slip, and drop it in the provided entry box.
There will be two pairs of tickets each, given away at the Abbotsford Public
Library, Colby Community Library, Dorchester Public Library, Greenwood Public
Library, Loyal Public Library, Owen Public Library, and the Withee Public
Library.
While visiting your local library, take advantage of their many fine programs,
or get a library card and read some classic Agatha Christie mysteries.
The Mousetrap is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of
Samuel French Inc.
