Royer, W. G. (1849 - 10 Jul 1921)

Funeral services for W. G. Royer who passed away on July 10, 1921, were held at St. Katherine’s Catholic Church at Owen, Clark County, Wis., on Tuesday, July 12th.

Mr. Royer was born in Pennsylvania in 1849, and in 1886 came to Wisconsin, for four years he engaged in various lumbering enterprises until in 1893 he accepted a position with the John S. Owen Lumber Co. at Owen, which he still held at the time of his death. Mr. Royer was one of Clark County'’ most prominent men, having been a continuous member of the country board for many years. He was elected president of the village of Owen for several terms and held that office at the time of his death. The county board attended the funeral services in a body to pay their last respects to a fellow member and the offices of the county court house were closed in honor of the deceased. Mr. Royer is survived by two daughters and one sister.
