Thanksgiving Re-union

Thirteen years ago the families of John F. King, H. Counsell, Thomas Reed, and Henry and Thomas Huckstead, pioneers of Clark county, entered into an arrangement to have a re-union yearly on thanksgiving day, which has been kept up by them. The last re-union was at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. King, of Pine Valley, they entertaining about forty. Some three years ago the families of Archibald Campbell and Walker Page were added. The older portions of the families meet at the home of the family designated, on thanksgiving day morning, and the day is spent in social intercourse and the enjoyment of a good old fashioned New England thanksgiving dinner. In the evening the younger portion, with invited friends, join the old folks, and the evening is spent is merry festivities. The occasion is looked forward to by the old falks with as much interest as they did to the fall and winter amusements in their youthful times in the days of "Auld Lang Syne." The young married people in the same neighborhood organized a similar organization on thanksgiving day and held their first social gathering at the residence of Julius Benedict on that day.
