Edward Pekol

Edward J. Pekol, 86, Greenwood, died Saturday, Oct. 18, at Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Oct. 21, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. The Rev. Joseph Follmar officiated. Burial will be at a later date.

Edward J. Pekol was born Aug. 8, 1917 in Willard, to Joseph and Helen (nee Zupanchic) Perkol. He was a master sergeant in the U.S. Army during WW II. He married Rose J. Simonelic on Oct. 21, 1944. He worked in the field of electronics and the early space program. He was also an amateur radio operator.

Survivors include his wife, Rose; two daughters, Rosalie Volk and Marlene Kazmarek; two sons, Edward Pekol and Robert Pekol; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Preceding him in death were his parents; three brothers, Fred Pekol, Joseph Pekol, and Stanley Pekol; and three sisters, Julia, Helen, and Mary.

The Cremation Society of Wisconsin assisted the family with arrangements.
