Krepsky, Alvina (31 May 1855 - 7 Mar 1926)

Mrs. August F. Krepsky, surrounded by her sorrowing husband and family, passed away at her home in Colby, Wis., Sunday, March 7, 1926. All that medical skill and kind and loving hands could do to save a life was done for her. From the start of her final illness, it seemed that one complication followed another in such rapid succession that recuperation was impossible.

Miss Alvina Bein was born in the city of Sheboygan, Wis., May 31, 1855. She was united in marriage with Mr. August F. Krepsky Sept. 22, 1878. To this union five children were born, of which two sons, Carl and Robert, preceded her to the great beyond in 1892. Mr. and Mrs. Krepsky lived on a farm near Sheboygan until Feb. 22, 1892, when they came with their family to Colby. Upon their arrival, they engaged in the hardware business, which they continued until 1910, when they were succeeded by the Colby Hardware Co. Since their retirement from business life they have resided in Colby with the exception of one year, during which time they lived at Abbotsford. Those who remain to mourn the death of Mrs. Krepsky are her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Augusta Holtzhausen and Miss Hattie Krepsky, one son, Hugo A. Krepsky, all of Colby, six grandchildren, five nieces and two nephews.

Funeral services were held at the M. E. Church, Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock, Rev. Parker officiating. Interment took place in the beautiful Colby Cemetery.

Mrs. Krepsky was one of the pioneers of this community. To know her was to love her. The seventy years of her life have been an inspiration to all who came in contact with her. She was a woman who though first of the comforts and happiness of others and lastly of herself. She will long be remembered as an ideal citizen and a kind and helpful neighbor.

Those from out of town here for the funeral were: Mrs. Herman Schultz, Mr. Frank Krepsky, Sheboygan; Mr. Wm. Bein, Plymouth; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Sweemer, Mr. and Mrs. Dan Martin, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Schultz and son, and Mrs. Mary Bein, Spencer.
