Dorothy M. Jinkerson, 84, Humbird, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, at her home in Humbird. Following an 11 a.m. visitation, funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 30, at Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville. Burial will be in Mentor Cemetery, Humbird.

Dorothy Mary Jinkerson was born Sept. 10, 1919, in Merrillan, to Louie and Helen (nee Putnam) Fitzmaurice. She married Virgil H. Jinkerson on Sept. 19, 1936 in Humbird. They moved to Worthington, Minn. in 1954 and lived there until he retired in July, 1974. They moved back to Humbird in September, 1974. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Humbird, and a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary, Humbird.

Survivors include two sons, Duane Jinkerson, Cornell, and Jack (Karen) Jinkerson, Macomb, Mich.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Dale (Joanne) Fitzmaurice, Janesville; one sister, June Michaels, Alma center; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her husband Virgil; and one sister, Violet.

The Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Dorothy M. Jinkerson

Dorothy Jinkerson, age 84, of Humbird, died Sunday, Oct. 26, at her home in Humbird.

She was born on Sept. 10, 1919, in Merrillan, the daughter of Louie and Helen (Putnam) Fitzmaurice. She was united in marriage to Virgil H. Jinkerson on Sept. 19, 1936, in Humbird. Virgil worked for the Chicago & Northwestern Railroad and transferred to Worthington, Minn. in 1954. They lived there until he retired in 1974. They moved back to Humbird in September of 1974.

Dorothy was a member of the United Methodist Church in Humbird and she was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxillary in Worthington, Minn.

She is survived by two sons, Duane Jinkerson of Cornell, and Jack (Karen) Jinkerson of Macomb, Mich.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Dale (Joanne) Fitzmaurice of Janesville; one sister, June Michaels of Alma Center; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil; and one sister, Violet.

Funeral services for Dorothy will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 30, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Interment will be in the Mentor Cemetery in Humbird. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Gesche Funeral Home.

The Gesche Funeral Home is assisting Dorothy's family with arrangements.
