Erdmann, Gustav (14 May 1873 - 13 Jan 1928)

Gustav Erdmann, who passed away last Friday afternoon, was born at Fond du Lac, Wis., May 14, 1873, thus reaching the age of 54 years, 7 months and 30 days. At an early age, the deceased came to the town of Colby, Clark County, Wis., with his parents, sisters and one brother, where he grew to manhood. In the year 1898 he was united in marriage with Miss Mary Theilig, which union was blessed with four children who survived him. After their marriage, they made their home with his parents, but after a few years, moved on the farm three and one-half miles west of Colby, where he spent the remainder of his life. He passed away quietly and peacefully at his home late last Friday afternoon, after an illness of two years duration, and in the faith of which he was baptized, instructed and confirmed.

His departure is mourned by his wife, Mary; his four children, Elsie Johnson, Oscar, Adolph and Ester Erdmann, his sisters, Mrs. Martha Peischer of Elgin, Minn., Mrs. Charley Erdmann of Athens, Wis. He is also survived by three grandchildren.

Mr. Erdmann was a lifelong and faithful member of the Lutheran Church and his departure is sincerely regretted by the members of the Green Grove congregation and by his many friends and acquaintances.

Funeral services were held in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Rev. M. C. Goetsch officiating, and interment was made in the Green Grove Cemetery.
