Horn, Robert (13 OCT 1861 - 5 Augl 1916)

Robert Horn was born at Sheboygan, Wis., Oct. 13, 1861. He came to Greenwood, Clark County, Wis., in 1879, where he died Aug. 5, 1916. He was united in marriage to Miss Christina Braun in Feb. 1886, to which union 13 children were born, three having died in infancy.

Deceased leaves to mourn his loss his wife, ten children, two sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, one grandchild, four brothers, four sisters and a large circle of other relatives and a host of friends.

Mr. Horn came to Clark County when it was mostly wilderness and out of a tract of land, consisting most of huge trees and stumps, made one of the finest farms in this section of the state. He was a man of genial impulses and never forgot the hospitable ways of a pioneer. To his wife he was a good husband, to his children a kind and loving father, and to his friends he was a man among men, loved by old and young alike.

The funeral was held last Wednesday afternoon and was one of the largest ever seen, which showed how ell he was respected in this community.

His brothers and sisters were all present for the funeral, they being, Mr. Gus Horn of Rhinelander, Wis., Mrs. M. C. Hammer of St. Paul, Minn., Mrs. J. B. Johnson of Chicago, Ill., Mr. and Mrs. Zimmerman and daughter of Wrightstown, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Horn of Olivein, Iowa and Mr. August Horn of St. Paul, Minn. Mrs. Theo. Knifke and sons of Chicago also were present at the funeral.
