Colby H.S. Reunions 1932, 1933, 1934
COLBY -- More than 50 members of the Colby High School classes of 1932, 1933 and
1934 gathered for a reunion Saturday at the Redwood Supper Club, Unity.
Dinner was served to 14 members of the Class of 1932, 21 members of the Class of
1933 and 17 members of the Class of 1934 and their spouses. Delores Flynn,
Wausau, and Ruth Costello, Fond du Lac, both former teachers, were guests.
Class Photos and souvenirs were displayed. A memorial honored deceased class
members: Catherine Kruas (Kraus?), Paul Umhoefer, James Umhoefer, Clara Thorn,
Jerome will, Willis Hafemann, Marie Zillmann, Erma Guenther, Harold Miller,
Vilas Gries, Class of 1932; Bud Hemmy, Robert Smith, John Velek, Wilbert Miller,
Willard Zulke of 1933 and Walter Schorer, Berneita Herrmann, Lester Sonnemann,
Margaret Strathman and Clarence Well, of 1934.
Wilbur Becker was emcee. Letters from absent teachers and classmates were read
by Bernadette Gabriel.
A memorial Mass in St. Mary's Catholic Church, celebrated by the Very Rev.
Raymond J. Pedretti, preceded the dinner. Packages of cheese were given to those
sending in the first reservations from each class: Viola Chermak, Ted Reel and
Virgil Frane.
Guests were George Krepsky, Savage, Minnesota, and Rose Sukup, Milwaukee.
