Pastor Darrel R. Bush
Pastor Darrel R. Bush, age 70, of Springfield, Missouri, died Sunday, Nov. 9, at St. John's Regional Health Center in Springfield.
Pastor Bush was born on Dec. 5, 1932 in Neillsville to Floyd and Francis Rose (Ripp) Bush. He received his education In Neillsville Schools and North Central Bible College in Minneapolis, Minn. He also played on the Neillsville city baseball team. He earned his Doctorate from the Universal Bible Institute, Birmingham, Ala.
He purchased the former County Farm and farmed until his mid-twenties. He was also employed at Post Co. in Owen. After his education, his first ministry was at the West Beaver Chapel at Loyal.
Pastor Bush was united in marriage to Hilda Eytzen on Nov. 23, 1962 at the Assembly of God Church in Waupaca. After marriage he also pastored at the Owen Gospel Tabernacle. He then went to the Tomahawk Assembly of God , Whitewater Assembly of God, and then for 22 years served as pastor at Central Assembly of God, Milwaukee. In May of 2000 he retired and moved to Maranatha Village, a Christian retirement community in Springfield, Missouri. He had a total of 44 years in ministry.
He is survived by his wife, Hilda Bush, of Springfield, Missouri; one brother, Pastor Charles (Dorann) Bush, of Dillon, Mont.; four sisters, Wava (Ken) Larson, of Alma Center, Bonnie Lavone Schnabel of Neillsville, Lola Lindgren of Owen, and Wanda (Gilbert) Erickson of Curtiss.
He was preceded in death by two daughters at birth; one brother, Dale in 1978; his parents; and two brothers-in-law, Delbert Schnabel and Jerry Lindgren.
Funeral services were held Nov. 17 at the Assembly of God Church in Neillsville. Officiates included Pastor Charles Bush, Dillon, Mont. (brother); Rev. Andrew Eytzen (brother-in-law); Bob Tipton, Milwaukee Central Assembly of God; Rev. Arden Adamson, District Superintendent of Wisconsin and North Michigan District Council, Assembly of God; and Pastor Douglas Bjerke.
Burial was held at the Neillsville City Cemetery. Pallbearers were his nephews.
Music was provided by a trio of the Central Assembly, soloist Dorann Bush (sister-in-law), and pianist Hilda Bush (Widow). Reader was Shannon Brager.
Buchanan Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
