Josephine H. Artac

Hosephine H. Artac, 89, of Neillsville, formerly of Willard, died in the Palliative Care Unit at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield on Tuesday, July 15.

Josephine Helen Ticer was born on March 13, 1914 in Lincoln, Ill., the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Szoljar) Ticer. As a young child, Josephine moved to the Tioga area with her family. In 1929, she married Leo Greening in Neillsville. The couple later divorced. In 1954, Josephine married Ludwig M. Artac in Neillsville. Josephine and her husband farmed in the Willard area for many years.

Josephine was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard, and its' CCW, the Clark County Homemakers, the Rock Dam Rod and Gun Club, and the K. S. K. J. club. She was also the president of Branch 101 of the Slovenian Women's Club for many years.

She is survived by her children, Frieda Adams, of Chippewa Falls; Doris (Robert) Berzinski of Stanley, Virginia Greening of Willard; Michael (Ellen) Artac of Willard; and Patricia (Michael) Sixel of Eau Claire; She is further survived by eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and one sister Delores "Frieda" Benjamin, of Chicago.

She was pre-deceased by her parents; her husband; two sisters, Angeline and Molly; and one brother, Joseph.

Funeral services were held July 18 at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Willard with Father Joseph Follmar officiating. Burial followed in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Don, Mark, Jason and Sean Adams, Randy Berzinski, and Bernard and Larry Artac.

Josephine Artac

Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, July 18, at Holy Family Catholic Church, Willard. The Rev. Joseph Follmar officiated. Burial was in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Don Adams, Mark Adams, Jason Adams, Randy Berzinski, Bernard Artac, Larry Artac, Sean Adams.

She was past president of Branch 101 of the Slovenian Women's Club for many years. Her interests included gardening, picking berries, and taking her friends for rides.

Survivors include her children, Frieda Adams, Chippewa falls, Doris (Robert) Berzinski, Stanley, Virginia Greening, Willard, Michael (Ellen) Artac, Willard, and Patricia (Michael) Sixel, Eau Claire; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Dolores "Frieda" Benjamin, Chicago, Ill.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband; two sisters, Angeline and Molly; and one brother, Joseph.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Greenwood, assisted the family with arrangements.
