The deceased enjoyed good health up to August 1, when he suffered a stroke and his eyesight also failed him so that for the past few months he was almost blind, but through it all he was very patient and considerate of others. He was a man that was highly respected by everyone in the community for he combined up-rightness and integrity in all his business and social relations. He leaves to mourn his loss five children, James, George and Mrs. Annie Mathison of Loyal, Mrs. Mary Uhrie of Battle Creek, Michigan, and Fred of North Crandon, Wisconsin, besides seven grandchildren.
