Wm. Mundt, who has been running a shoemaking shop here for nearly a year, has closed out his business and moved his shop fixtures to Neillsville, where he expects to remain a short time and then go west. Billy is a jolly good fellow, a good workman and has made many friends here who will wish him success wherever he May decide to pitch his tent. (Loyal Tribune)

George Hicks received word Saturday morning that his son Brainard had died the evening previous at the home of his sister in Chicago of appendicitis. The remains were brought back to his home at Merrillan on the Sunday morning train, interment the same afternoon. Brainard was 25 years of age; was taken sick some two months ago at Milwaukee, going from there to his aunt’s at Chicago where he died.
