Mink, Franklin P. (SEP 1847 - 31 Jul 1925)

The remains of Franklin P. Mink, whose death occurred at Black Earth, Wis., on Friday, July 31, 1925, was brought here (Owen, Clark County, Wis.) for burial, services taking place Monday afternoon from the home of his daughter, Mrs. P. W. Clifton. He was seventy-seven years and ten months of age, and death was due to a stroke of apoplexy.

Franklin Mink came to the village of Withee twenty-three years ago, and entered the mercantile business, and after a short time sold his interests to his son, who later conducted the business. Following his retirement from the mercantile business he purchased a farm southwest of Withee and there made his home for several years. Later he moved to Longwood, where he purchased another farm. Following the sale of the farm in Longwood he came to Owen and was employed at different positions about the box factory and saw mill, until about three years ago, he moved to Black Earth, where his son resides, to make his home. He was one of the pioneers in the vicinity of Withee and was an excellent citizen.

Funeral services were conducted by Rev. A. C. Odden, at the home of his daughter, and burial took place in the Greenwood Cemetery. He leaves to mourn his wife and one son, Gilbert, both of Black Earth, and one daughter, Mrs. P. W. Clifton of this city. Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Mink of Black Earth accompanied the body here for burial.
