Machlett, Henry (14 AUG 1854 - 20 DEC 1927)

Henry Machlett was born in Germany Aug. 14, 1854 and came to this country at the age of nineteen. Two years later he was married to Miss Margaret Meyers of Sheboygan Co. and they began their married life on a farm near Midway, but soon moved to Curtiss, Clark County, Wis., and opened a blacksmith shop. Later he entered the hardware business and was also proprietor of the Curtiss Hotel for many years. About six years ago he sold the Hardware store and retired from business. He passed away very suddenly Tuesday morning of heart failure, having been in poor health the past few years.

The deceased leaves to mourn his loss, his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Wm. Mais of Rib Lake, Mrs. O. C. Cox of Kennan, and two sons, Fred of this place and Ben of Eau Claire, all of who were present at the funeral that was held on Friday afternoon at the Norwegian Lutheran Church, The Rev. J. Skagen officiating. Sincere sympathy is extended to the family by the whole community.
