Zenzel, Mathew (8 JUN 1851 - 22 DEC 1927)

Mathew Zenzel was born June 8, 1851 and was confirmed in the Catholic faith in Weibern, German Austria. In Sept 1883 he came to this country to Milwaukee, and in 1884 he then came to Dorchester, Clark County, Wis. and was united in marriage on May 15, 1885 to Anna Blasel and moved to a farm near Curtiss. To this union was born 3 children, Minnie, Anna and Albert. In 1916 he retired from the farm and moved to Curtiss where he spent the rest of his days.

He passed away Dec. 22, 1927 at the Marshfield Hospital, at the age of 76 years, 6 months and 14 days. He leaves to mourn, his wife, Mrs. Mathew Zenzel, Mrs. Minnie Sutherland of Tomahawk, Mrs. Anna Williams of Curtiss, Albert Zenzel of Medford, and nine grandchildren.

Hi, I am from Slovenia close to Germany. My last name is CENCEL...IN German languages is same ZENZEL. I think that Matthew Zenzel came to Germany from Slovenia. Since then in Slovenia under German authority to change the names. That time any Slovenes then went to work in Germany to serve.
