Sorensen, Marie A.(1858 - 5 APR 1928)

Mrs. Marie Sorensen, a resident of the town of Hixon, Clark County, Wis. for twenty-five years, died Thursday of last week at Hollywood, Calif., of heart failure, at which place she had resided for the past year and a half. She was seventy years of age and was a native of Denmark. In 1883 she married Nels Sorensen, and two years later came to America. Her husband, Mr. Sorensen died in 1904.

Mrs. Sorensen had been in the best of health up until the time of her heart attack, and was preparing for a trip east to join two others from Withee, and go to Denmark late this spring on a visit.

The body was accompanied here by her son, George Sorensen of Hollywood, Calif., which arrived Wednesday morning.

Funeral services were conducted from the Danish Lutheran Church Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Petersen officiating, and burial took place in the Danish cemetery.

She leaves to mourn, three sons, George and Henry of Hollywood, Calif., and Theodore of Withee, and four daughters, Mrs. Ida Hayes, Mrs. H. Leavitt, Hollywood, Calif.; Mrs. F. C. Hanmore, Chicago; and Mrs. Mats Madsen, Star Prairie, Wis.

Those from away who came to attend the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. Mats Madsen, Star Prairie, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Hanmore, Chicago, and George Sorensen, Hollywood, Calif.
