Swiniarski, Bernice August 15, 1907 - September 26, 2002

Bernice Swiniarski, age 95, of Withee, WI passed away Thursday, September 26, 2002 at the Clark County Health Care Center, Owen, WI.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2002, 10:30 a.m. at the Thorp Funeral Home chapel with Rev. John Puerner officiating. Interment of cremains will follow at St. Stanislaus Catholic Cemetery, Lublin, WI. Visitations will also be on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Thorp Funeral Home.

Bernice Galarowicz was born on August 15, 1907 in Pittsburgh, PA. To Jacob and Caroline Galarowicz. As a young child, her family moved to Wisconsin, where she attended Timberline School. She moved to Chicago, IL as a teenager and worked at several factories over the years. She married William Swiniarski in 1926 in Chicago, IL.

They later moved back to Wisconsin and farmed. After selling the farm, they bought a bar in Lublin where they worked until retirement. They then moved to her rural Withee home where her husband passed away in 1970. She enjoyed the outdoors, especially her flower and vegetable gardens. She was a member of the St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Lublin for many years.

Bernice is survived by her daughter, Lorraine (Joe) Zawacki of Withee, WI; 4 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren and two brothers: Joe and John Galarowicz. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William, 3 sisters and 6 brothers.
