AUGUST BRUCHERT, 89 BURIED IN RIVERSIDE

August Bruchert, 89, passed away at the Legault hospital Monday evening where he received treatment for a fractured hip and leg which he received through a fall at his home on Friday morning.

The body will lie in state at the Griebenow-Weirich funeral home until Friday noon and funeral services will be conducted from the St. John's Lutheran Church Friday afternoon at 2:00 o'clock with the Rev. Wendling officiating. Intermeent will be made in Riverside cemetery.

He was born May 5, 1849, in Germany. While living there he was united in marriage to Albertine Martens. To this union was born five sons, three of whom have preceded him in death, and Fred and William, both of Withee; and five daughters, on of whom is deceased and Mrs. Jake Steager of Owen, Mrs. William Brandt, Mrs. Ed Bruckschlager and Mrs. R. Martin, all of whom live in Withee. His wife preceded him in death passing away to eternity 18 years ago, while residing in the town of Hixon.

Mr. Bruchert was a pioneer settler in this vicinity having lived here for 46 years. Mr. and Mrs. Bruchert and family moved from Germany to America in 1883, where they settled on a farm in the town of Hixon and resided there for 30 years. Since the death of his wife he has made his home in Withee with his son, William, for the past 16 years.

Mr. Bruchert has gained a host of friends by his thoughtfulness and considerate ways. He was a devoted father to his family and his loss will be keenly felt.

His many friends in Owen, Withee and vicinity extend their deepest sympathy to those he leave to mourn his loss.
