BENJAMIN GAUTSCHE OF WITHEE PASSES AWAY

After a short illness Benjamin Gautsche of Withee passed away at the Legault Hopital, at the age of 79 years, two months, and 15 days.

Mr. Gautsche was born in Trenton, Butler county, Ohio, on October 2, 1861. At an early age he came with his parents to a farm at Metamora, Ill., where he lived until 1919 when he purchased a farm in the town of Longwood, which he farmed for a few years, then retired, moving to the village of Withee, where he made his home.

He leaves to mourn his loss four brothers, Nickalos of Langdon, N. D., Sam of Laneburg, Ark., Peter of Jacson, Ill., Henry of Withee; one sister, Mrs. Fannie Smith of Pioneer, Ohio; a sister in law, Mrs. Katie Gautsche; and nephew, William Gautsche and family of Withee; also many neices and nephews. Two brothers and two sisters have preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock from the Griebenow Funeral Parlors, Rev. W. P. D. Powe, officiating. Burial was made in the Riverside cemetery.

Those from out of town who attended the funeral were Nickolas Gautsche of Langdon, N. D.; Mr. and Mrs. Chris Ulrich of Eureka, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Zoss of Low Point, Ill.; and Mrs. Ed Schertz of Metamora, Ill.
