LAWRENCE HANSEN LAID TO REST TODAY

Funeral services were conducted this afternoon, May 8, 1941, for Andreas Lawrence Hansen, 66, from the Griebenow Funeral parlors.

Rev. J. H. Rostad officiated at the service and burial was made in the Danish Lutheran cemetery at Withee.

Death came suddenly to Mr. Hansen as the result of a heart attack, which he suffered early Tuesday morning. He passed away at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Niemi where he had resided for the past several years.

Andreas Lawrence Hansen was born on December 25, 1875, in the city of Chicago, where he spent his early boyhood. When a young man of 19 years he moved to Withee with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Christian Hansen, where he had since lived.

He was united in marriage to Anna M. Larsen on April 3, 1901, at Withee. The couple was blessed with a family of five children. He served for 30 years as a rural mail carrier from 1905 until 1935, when he retired from his work and drew a pension. For the past five years he had made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Emil Niemi and worked for Mr. Niemi at the Club Gables.

His passing is mourned by his five children, Theodore of St. Paul, Chris of Chicago; and three daughters, Esther of Oak Park, Ill., Elizbeth of Chicago, Ill., and Laura C. Cook of St. Paul; a brother, Emil V. Hansen, and a sister, Mrs. Anna Ammentorp of Withee besides his many friends.
