Matt Beaver, 85, of 410 W. Main St., Spencer, died Fiday, December 23, 1983, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.

Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 37, 1983, at Christ the King Catholic Church, Spencer. Officiating was Reverend Andrew Bofenkamp.

Interment was in the West Spencer Cemetery, with grandsons serving as pallbearers. A rosary service was conducted at 7:30 p.m., Monday. Rux Funeral Home, Spencer, handled arrangements.

Matt Beaver was born to John and Mary [nee Domine] Beaver in the Town of Loyal on September 28, 1898. He receiver his education at the Mack School and the Catholic school in Loyal.

On September 28, 1926, he and Mary Fleming were married. She died in 1931. On July 23, 1935, he and Rosetta Schuld were married. She died in 1937. He married Rosalind Rueth Miller on August 30, 1952. She died in 1981.

He was active in various retail stores in Loyal from 1919-1955, during which time he also owned and operated the Beaver Dry Goods Store. In 1855, he moved to Colby and operated a tavern. In 1961 he moved to Marshfield and worked at St. John the Baptist Church and later was custodian at Hotel Charles.

He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Holy Name Society and Marshfield Knights of Columbus.

Surviving him are one son, Carlton of California; two daughters, Mrs. Glenn [Jane] Frankwick of Marshfield and Mrs. Douglas [Sally] Sebold of Lindsay; three step-sons, Ray Miller of Chili, Norman Miller of Park Falls and Arnold Miller of Clinton; one step-daughter, Mrs. Al [Betty] Hills of Loyal; 23 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Bernard Beaver of Loyal; and one sister, Bertha Dean of California.

Preceding him in death were his parents; 10 brothers and six sisters.

I have 3 marriages for Matt Beaver 1st Mary Fleming 28 Sep 1926. That one is posted on the marriage list on the Internet Library, Clark Co.site. 2nd marriage Rosetta Schuld 23 July 1935.He then married Rosilind Rueth Miller on August 30, 1952. Her obit is posted on the Library. I also have an obit of a daughter-in-law, Shirley, died 05 Sept. 17, 2003 in Calif.
