Evangeline Ella Bolton was born April 15, 1885, three miles northwest of Granton, on what is known at present as the Wentworth farm. In 1889 the family moved to the home which has been their residence ever since. Sister Bolton spent most of her childhood days in this vicinity where she received her education and became the friend of all who formed her acquaintance. Reared in a Christian home she early felt it loving influence and gave her heart to the Lord. Soon after she united with the Free Methodist Church and has followed the Lord joyfully the past eighteen years. Her last illness came while on a visit to Greenville, Ill. A few days ago it became apparent the end was near and the relatives were summoned to the bedside, where with faith unshaken and in the fullness of hope, she said: "Meet me in heaven," and fell asleep in Jesus. On Saturday afternoon, Feb. 12th, the gates of heaven were opened and the angels sang a welcome home to sister Bolton. She leaves to mourn her loss her mother, Mrs. Emma Bolton, a sister, Mrs. Robert Thomson, and other relatives and friends. The remains were laid to rest in the York Center Cemetery on Thursday afternoon, Rev. E.C. Case, pastor of the Free Methodist church, officiating.

The funeral of Miss Evangeline Bolton took place here Thursday from the M.E. Church, Rev. Case officiating. Interment was made in the family lot in the cemetery here. She leaves to mourn her early demise, her mother, Mrs. Emma Bolton, and a sister, Mrs. Marion Tompson of York. Mrs. H.A. King of Granton, Mrs. Floy Lee of Fremont, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Palmer of Hemlock, Tom Galland and daughter of Spencer, Mr. and Mrs. W.W. Warner and Mrs. Edgar Warner of Loyal were here to attend the funeral.
