March 23, 1899: Word was received here last Saturday of the death of Alpheus Galland. Deceased died at Grand Rapids, Mich., of typhoid fever. He was quite well known here and his body will be shipped out here for interment.

March 30, 1899: The funeral of Alpheus Galland took place last Thursday from the M.E. Church. Rev. Thwing of the F.M. Church officiated.
