Edward W. Voight 86, Neillsville, died Saturday at Neillsville Memorial Home. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at York Center Methodist Church, the Rev. Charles Sanford officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 - 9 p.m. Tuesday and until 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville, and until time of services at the church. Mr. Voight was born September 26, 1891, in Dodge County and moved to Clark County with his parents when he was 8. He married the former Ida Vandeberg October 21, 1914, at Neillsville and they farmed for many years in the Town of York. Mrs. Voight died in 1970. Mr. Voight moved to Neillsville in 1974. He was a member of the York Center Methodist Church and York Center Community Club. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Charles (June) Kruger, Centerville, South Dakota; two sons, Mervin, Pico Riveria, California; and Harvey, Round Lake, Illinois; one sister, Mrs. Martin (Martha) Dankemeyer, Chili; 10 grandchildren; 16 great- grandchildren; and 3 great great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by one son, one daughter, three brothers and one sister.

Voight, Edward W. (26 September 1891 – 1 October 1977)

Funeral services were held October 5 at 1:30 p.m. from the York Center United Methodist Church for Edward W. Voight, 86, of Neillsville, who died October 1. The Rev. Charles Sanford officiated, and burial followed in the York Center Cemetery. The Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Wayne Kronberger, Russell Vandeberg, Rueben Garbusch, Donald Sladek, Donald Free and Tony Schecklman.

Nyle Benedict sang “In the Garden” and “Rock of Ages.” Mrs. Irene Rowe was the accompanist.

Among those attending the services were the following from out of town, Mervin Voigt, Pico Rivers, Ca.; George Weitzel, Downey, Ca.; Harvey and Justine Voigt and Sarah Foxvog, Round Lake, Il.; Mr./Mrs. Joseph Barretta and Jason, Glen Ellyn, Il.; Mrs. Melvin Meyers, Wisconsin Rapids; Dr./Mrs. Charles Kruger, Oscar Egger, Rhinelander; Mr./Mrs. Mike Austin and Tania, Mrs. Tamara Pingrey, Thomas Haines and Crystal Haines, Centerville, S.D.; Mrs. Merle Laurenson, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Also, a host of friends and relatives from Loyal, Colby, Spencer, Chili, Granton, Pittsville, Marshfield and Neillsville.
