Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 30, at the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville for Lyle E. Voigt, 41, of Sparta, and formerly of Route 1, Neillsville, who died at Baptist Hospital, Memphis, Tennessee, Wednesday. The Rev. Eugene Carlson, Loyal, officiated and burial took place in the York Center Cemetery. Mr. Voigt, a pilot, have been working in Tennessee as a crop duster, and suffered the effects of a chemical used in the spraying. He was hospitalized Monday for treatment. Lyle Edward Voigt was born December 14, 1933, in the Town of York and received his education there, and at Loyal High School. Survivors include his father, Ed Voigt, Neillsville; a sister, Mrs. Charles (June) Kruger, Centerville, South Dakota; and two brothers, Mervin Voigt, Picotivera, California; and Harvey Voight, Round Lake, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his mother.

Voigt, Lyle Edward (14 December 1933 – 27 August 1975) With Flag

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon from the Georgas-Gesche Funeral Home for a former Neillsville man, Lyle Edward Voigt, 41, of Sparta, who died August 27 at Baptist Hospital in Memphis, Tn. The Rev. Gene Carlson of Loyal officiated and burial followed in the York Center Cemetery.

Lyle E. Voigt, son of Ed Voigt of Neillsville and the late Mrs. Ida Vandeberg Voigt, was born December 14, 1933, in the Town of York. He served in the armed forces from January 10, 1957, until December of 1958.

Survivors, in addition to his father, include one sister, Mrs. Charles (June) Kruger of Centerville, S.D.; and two brothers, Mervin Voigt of Pico Rivera, Ca., and Harvey Voigt of Round Lake, Il.

Pallbearers were Rueben Garbisch, Tom Haines, Don Sladek, Don Free, Russel VandeBerg and Chester VandeBerg.

Donna Chase and Mary Chase sang “In The Garden” and “How Great Thou Art.” Deon Spangler was the accompanist.

Among those attending the services were the following from out of town Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Voigt, Pico Rivera, Ca.; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Voigt, Round Lake, Il.; Dr. and Mrs. Charles Kruger, Mr. and Mrs. Mike Austin and Tania and Tom and Crystal Haines, Centerville, S.D.; Mr. and Mrs. John VandeBerg, Beaver Dam; and Mr. and Mrs. Chester VandeBerg, Forest Park, Il.

Many relatives and friends from Neillsville, Granton, Chili, Loyal, Marshfield, Colby, Spencer and Greenwood were also in attendance.
