Wampole, Eva C. (9 SEP 1879 - 29 OCT 1907)

Eva Catherine Fradenburg was born in Mentor township, Clark County, Wis., Sep 9, 1879, and died Oct. 29, 1907, at her home in Eau Claire Co. Her life was passed at her home near Humbird, until Dec. 28, 1905, when she was united in marriage to Mr. John Wampole, and a few months afterward moved to Eau Claire Co., where they have since made their home.

She attended the Houghtonburg School during her early youth and after passed through the Humbird High School, graduating in 1897. Since this time she has been employed as a teacher. After teacing several years in the district schools near her home, she was employed in the Humbird schools, where she taught nearly two years, resigning her position shortly after her marriage.

Besides her husband she leaves a babe, two weeks old, her parents, one sister, Nina, and four brothers, George, Bert, Peter and Archie, and a host of relatives and friends to mourn their loss.

Mrs. Wampole, or "Kittie" as we all knew her, was a young woman of a kind and living disposition, stainless character, and true Christian spirit. She will be remembered by those among whom her life was passed, as one more ready to cheer than discourage, more ready to commend than to condemn, and more ready to give than receive. A kind and dutiful daughter, cheerful happy schoolmate, and loving wife, she leaves behind her a memory that will be cherished the more tenderly with the passing of the years.

Funeral services were held at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. S. Fradenburg, Saturday, Nov. 2nd, conducted by Rev. G. B. Haskell, and the Lady Maccabees, of which she was a member. The interment occurred at the Houghtonburg Cemetery.

Non-resident relatives who attended the funeral were: Mrs. W. H. Nettleton and Mrs. Fanny Humphrey of Mondovi; Willis Nichols, Jessie Nichols, and Myrtle King, of Hebron, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Wampole, Clara and Robert Wampole of Strum; Mrs. William Raschke, Mr. and Mrs. William Tennant, of Butternut; Mr. and Mrs. Dell Wampole of Merrillan; Mr. and Mrs. G. M. Ferguson and children, Mr. and Mrs. O. Travis of Mentor; and Agnes and Myrtle Brice of Strum.

John Wampole was my great uncle. Robert was my grandfather and Clara was his sister. I've heard the names mentioned of many of the others, but don't recall meeting them. Dallas Gunderson
