ABBOTSFORD - Elva Ven Rooy, 89, Abbotsford, Wisconsin, died Nov. 30, 2003, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Bernard's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Colby.

Visitation with family and friends will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the Maurina Funeral Home, where a prayer service will be held at 7 pm.

She was born March 21, 1914, in the town of Hull to Fred and Sarah (Tuttle) Olson. Elva and Norbert Ven Rooy were united in marriage on March 30, 1932, in Colby. Norbert preceded her in death on June 20, 1986. Elva was a homemaker in the town of Frankfort, where she and her husband owned a dairy farm.

She is survived by her children, Dorothy (Donavon) Bohman, Stratford, Patricia (Thomas) Killbeck, Ringle, Sandra Block, Stratford, Jim Ven Rooy, Merrill, Donald Ven Rooy, Oshkosh, and Richard (Ruth Jack) Ven Rooy, Rothschild; 22 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and her brother, Byron Olson, Colby.
