Theiler, Fred (27 JUL 1866)

Fred Theiler was born in Switzerland July 27, 1866. He came to America in March of 1884 and settled in Green Co., Wis. After living there about twelve years he came to Humbird, Clark County, Wis. and settled on what is known as the Huyck farm. His marriage with Miss Elsie Zeller occurred Nov. 20, 1890. Mr. Theiler said: "I think that the young men taking hold of the farming country and extensive dairy business being carried on has helped the town the most of anything. We now have a good start and many citizens are taking interest in the welfare of the community and want to have things move rapidly. We compare well with other towns of the same size, but would be greatly helped by a good steady stock business and more capital." Mr. Theiler has been a member of the town board four years and manager of the cheese factory nine years, and of the creamery two. The able manner in which he has conducted these several different offiices has proven him a man of ability and thoroughly competent in all business ventures.
