Fowler, Oliver (4 JAN 1831)

Oliver Fowler, one of our early settlers, having been a resident in this vicinity since 1867, was born Jan. 4, 1831 at Lenox, Ashtabula Co., Ohio. When this country was a wilderness he settled on a tract near here (Humbird, Clark County, Wis.), which he developed into a fine farm. Three years ago last November he moved to town. Mr. Fowler was married to Julia S. Sweet April 11, 1854. She died Dec. 30, 1904. Seven children were born to them. Mr. Fowler refrains from expressing any comment on the reawakening of our village, he not having been interest in improvements in his later years.
