Vickie Y. Buttke - Peterson

Vickie Y. Buttke - Peterson, age 30, of Neillsville, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at her home on Ayers Street in Neillsville.

Vickie Yvonne Buttke was born on February 27, 1973, in Black River Falls, the daughter of Wesley and Donna (Kennedy) Buttke. She attended kindergarten in Greenwood, and then graduated from Neillsville High School in 1992. After graduation, she worked at Weathershield in Greenwood for eight years beginning in 1994. After her parents had purchased the Cozy Kitchen restaurant in Neillsville in 2002, Vickie began working there. She was united in marriage on June 7, 2003 in Neillsville.

Vickie loved camping, playing darts, and exercising.

Vickie was the loving mother of her two month old son, Blake. She is also survived by her parents, Wesley and Donna Buttke of Neillsville; two sisters, Sherlene (Rick) Oldham of Neillsville, and Renee (Roger) Waltermate of Neillsville; nieces and nephews, Christopher and Courtney Oldham, Brittany, Zachary, Jacob and Ryan Waltermate; great nephews, Logan and Scott Waltermate; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ruby and Forest Kennedy, and Arthur and Esther Buttke.

Funeral services for Vickie were held Jan. 6, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. Pastor James Gordon officiated. Music was provided by Eileen Zank, organist, and Bethany Nauertz, soloist. Interment was in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Casket bearers were Ed Bergey, Charlie Cooper, Roger King, David Northup, Mathew Overman, and Rich Overman.

The Gesche Funeral Home assisted Vickie's family with arrangements.
