------ Wiersig, Patricia K.  (04 JUL 1965)

Sunday, July 4, was the wedding day of Miss Patricia K. Wiersig and John C. Hermanson, both of Chicago.  The ceremony took place at Colby, the home of the bride’s parents, at Zion Lutheran church, with the Rev. Harold Woodworth officiating.

Mr. Wiersig presented his daughter in marriage to the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hermanson of Madison in the ceremony performed at 4 o’clock before the alter adorned with mock orange blossoms.  Mrs. Vernon Boss was organist and accompanist for Kenneth Schultz, who sang “O Perfect Love” and “The Lord’s Prayer” and the congregation, which sang “Now Thankful We All Our God” and “May We Thy Precepts Lord Fulfill”.

The bride appeared in a gown of silk faced peau de soie that featured an empire silhouette and detachable Watteau chapel length train.  Seed pearls trimmed the dress and the headpiece which held her bouffant veil.  She carried a shite Bible on which there was an arrangement of stephanotis and satin streamers.

For her attendants, the bride chose her two sisters, Miss Cheryl Wiersig as maid of honor and Miss Linda Wiersig, both of Colby, at bridesmaid.

Color accent to complement the shite satin street length dresses worn by the attendants was seen in the headpieces made of a red cabbage rose and short veil and the crescent bouquets of red and variegated carnations with green foliage.

Jeffery Hermanson and Don Anderson of Madison attended the groom.

Following the church ceremony, a reception was held at the church parlors.  About 200 guests attended and were from Chicago, Moline, Ill., Madison, La Crosse, Cashton, Spencer, Marshfield, Luck, Milwaukee, Wausau, Edgar, Stratford, Abbotsford and Colby.

The bride a graduate of the Colby high school in 1959 and Luther school of nursing Eau Claire in 1962, is employed at Michael Reese hospital at Chicago.

Her husband is currently engaged in doctoral research at the University of Chicago.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston, and a masters degree from the University of Chicago.

After a two week wedding trip to Canada, they will make their home in Chicago.
