Skrzypchak, Francis L. (13 JUN 1946 - 30 APR 2014)

Francis L. Skrzypchak, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at the age of 67.

Francis’ story begins in the Town of Cassel on June 13, 1946. Francis was the son of the late Anton and Anna Skrzypchak.

He grew up with nine siblings on a dairy farm where hard work was quickly learned. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School and finished his education at Marathon High School. After meeting the love of his life, Jennifer (Lenhard) Skrzypchak, they wed on October 20, 1978.

Francis was a man of character and integrity. This showed in the work he did on the job and at home. After retiring in 2012 he completed his “retirement” project by completely restoring a bulldozer with the help of a special nephew, Jason. Most evenings would find him tinkering in his garage, welcoming all who came to see him. He was well known for entertaining family and friends with his long-winded stories.

Out of all his accomplishments in his life, his children gave him the most pride and joy. He loved taking his family on road trips to explore out west. He loved the Rocky Mountains, elk hunting and relaxing at his cabin.

Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Jennifer (Lenhard) Skrzypchak; two sons, Brandon (Nicole) Skrzypchak and Brian Skrzypchak; two daughters, Melanie Skrzypchak and Stephani Skrzypchak (David O’Brien Jr.); three grandchildren, Piper and Ripley Skrzypchak and David O’Brien III; four brothers, Eddie (Marilyn) Skrzypchak, David (Donna) Skrzypchak, Roland (Lyn) Skrzypchak and Dale (Doreen) Skrzypchak; two sisters, Marlene Deininger and Eunice Hanson; two brothers-in-law, Clarence Adamski and Darwin Kluball; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Anna Skrzypchak; three sisters, Mary Adamski, Valaria Olson and Virginia Kluball; three brothers-in-law, Jack Olson, Sy Deininger and Larry Hanson; and his mother and father-in-law, Clarence and Clara Lenhard.

The mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday, May 5, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus Parish, Wausau. Visitation was held at the church on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

Arrangements are under the care of Life Tributes Funeral Home and Cremation Service-Spencer.
