Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Buchholz (26 June 1912 - 03 June 1968)

Mr. and Mrs. Daniel L. Buchholz of Loyal were guests of honor at a picnic dinner held at the Greenwood park at Greenwood on Sunday, June 9. in honor of their 56th wedding anniversary. The picnic was planned by their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence E. Meinhardt.

Daniel Buchholz and Sarah Bredlow were both born in Monroe county, he near Wilton and she near Ontario. Mrs. Buchholz attended Ontario High School and did house-work in the area of her earlier years. Mr. Buchholz attended the University of Wisconsin, where he took a short course in buttermaking and was employed as a buttermaker at Wilton, Hoffman Corners and the surrounding area for several years.

June 26. 1912, they were united in marriage at the United Brethern Church in Ontario. In 1920 they began farming, and moved to the farm on which they presently live in 1924. Although no longer actively engages in farming, they both enjoy gardening and working with flowers. Mrs. Buchholz also enjoys crocheting and embroidering.

The couple are parents of three daughters, Lorraine, who died in infancy, Miss Arlene Buchholz at home; and Mrs. Clarence (Vera) Meinhardt, Greenwood.

Those who attended the occasion included relatives from Racine, Ontario, Norwalk, Tomah, Ladysmith, Greenwood and Loyal.
