Schuette, Ruth Theresa (9 May 1917 - 23 Aug. 1989)

Ruth T. Schuette, 72, of Rt. 1, United, died Aug. 23, 1989, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

A funeral was held Aug. 27 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, South Green Grove. The Rev. DuWayne Schneider officiated, and burial was in the church cemetery. Maurina Funeral Home handled arrangements.

Ruth Theresa Sommer was born May 9, 1917, in the Town of Green Grove, Clark County, to Theodore and Herta (Woik) Sommer.

She and Elmer Schuette were married June 10, 1939, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, North Green Grove.

She worked at Packaging Corp. in Colby for five years. They farmed in the Town of Green Grove until their retirement, then continued to live on the farm.

Mrs. Schuette was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church and its Ladies’ Aid.

Survivors are her husband Elmer; a son and daughter-in-law, William and Jennifer Schuette of Unity; 7 grandchildren, Theresa, Lance, Rexanne, Lucinda, Kayann, Meliss and Ramalee; two brothers, Vernon and Maryln Sommer, both of Curtiss, and two sisters, Mrs. Harley (Eileen) Hardrath of Owen and Mrs. Leonard (Marilyn) Wachsmuth of Arlington Heights, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Donald Sommer.

Pallbearers were Gary Sommer, David Sommer, Robert Wachsmuth, Dennis Witt, Harley Witt and Glen Hardrath, Jay Sommer and Todd Sommer were honorary pallbearers.
