GREENWOOD - Jacob "Jake" H. Barr, 90, of Greenwood, died July 24, 2005, at the Clark County Health Care Center in Owen, Wis.

Cuddie Funeral Home of Greenwood is assisting the family with arrangements.

Jacob 'Jake' Barr

GREENWOOD - Jacob "Jake" Herbert Barr, 90, of Greenwood, died Sunday, July 24, 2005, at Clark County Health Care Center in Owen, Wis.

Graveside services will be held at a later date in the Greenwood City Cemetery.

Cuddie Funeral Home of Greenwood is assisting the family with the arrangements.

He was born Jan. 9, 1915, in Ryegate, Mont., to Fred and Mary (Beohn) Barr. He moved to Willard in 1929 and to Cameron. He entered the U. S. Army on April 11, 1942, and served until his honorable discharge on Dec. 13, 1945. He was united in marriage to Ruth Ann Johnson on July 20 , 1946, in Winona, Minn. Together they owned and operated Barr's Bar for 58 years. They also purchased a farm in 1950 which they farmed until 1988. His wife died on July 24, 2004.

He is survived by two sons, Jack (Janet) Barr, Sun Prairie, and Jim (Deb) Barr, Willard; daughter, Jana (Scott) Herrick, Willard; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Anna Fae Heck, Neillsville, Wis.
